In this present day and age, with increasing affluence in our society Singaporeans are having better standards of living. It is because of this rise in standards of living that cast a judgement on Singaporeans having a literal “good life”.

With affluence and the rise of standard of living, everyone is chasing a standard to better themselves. However, with too much competition it produces competition amongst the best, the creme de la creme causing stress to those who are in this macrosystem.

The influx of foreigners have created a brand awareness, something that they imitate or emulate. However, this would take away part of our identity as Singaporeans.

The objective is to enhance fine motor skills through pincer grip suitable for toddlers in the sensorimotor stage (Piaget) where children explore through senses.

Have you ever felt tired of the priorities that you were meant to fulfil? I kinda get that, being inundated with all these expectations on you it’s like as if the world rests on your shoulders, burdened.

I guess one feels that way because of misaligned expectations? From family, friends (colleagues included 😉), self, etc. The inner social circle, one’s mirco ecological system would eventually affect one’s view of self and create either an inflated or deflated self – this being linked to self-esteem . That is not to say that you should rid of those people around you who’ve set high expectations for you 😅

I believe the proper way around this should be to level their expectations with your abilities, this way there would be a good balance and ultimately both sides can be alleviated of the sense of insuffiency.

Your thoughts? Feel free to share what you think, no coarse language pls!

How do we raise less entitled children?

Children these days seem rather entitled. From the food they eat, the clothes they wear and their mannerisms all speak of entitlement. From my past experience as a preschool teacher, I had come across children who do not come to school, absent themselves not out of choice but because some of them do not have able parents to send them to school, perhaps these families lack the assistance needed financially.

Oh wells, some random thoughts on today.

Pace

Colours are literally bright lights shining on a pavement. Paving the way for a brighter day. However, if your world lacks colour and is void of it, then be grateful for sight.

To break off from the hurried paces of day to day monotony, it’s sometimes nice to take a break.
